For some, it begins with a property. For others, it starts with an idea, a conversation, or a sense that something needs to change. Our process is designed to meet each project at its starting point, then work with you to establish the right pathway forward.

Trueform Property Assessment
For those considering a property, the first question is often whether it can support the project you have in mind.
Our independent assessment provides architectural insight into the property's opportunities, constraints and potential before committing to the purchase. If you decide to continue with Trueform, your project then enters our Discover stage.
-
The early stages of a project set the foundations for everything that follows. We take the time to understand what matters to you, what the site can offer, and what the project needs to achieve before moving into design.
Trueform Brief
The Trueform Brief is developed with you, bringing together your aspirations, preferences and practical requirements. Through conversation and exploration, we uncover what matters most to you and translate those insights into a clear basis for the design process.
We consider the site, its opportunities and constraints, alongside budget, planning requirements and procurement early in the process. These considerations help inform the scope, priorities and direction of the project as it develops.
This understanding helps determine which of our two pathways is best suited to the project.
Trueform Architects
Bespoke architectural design from concept through construction.A fully bespoke process, with the design developed specifically around the project, its setting and its requirements.
Trueform Editions
A collection of highly resolved architectural homes.A more streamlined process, beginning with an established architectural design and reducing the extent of design development, documentation and consultant input required.
-
We explore the project through physical and digital methods, using sketches, models, drawings and visual imagery to develop and communicate the design. As it progresses, we consider its architectural character, how it will be experienced and occupied, its relationship to the setting, and the planning, regulatory and construction requirements. Your input remains central throughout, with each stage informed by your feedback, ongoing dialogue and the expertise of the wider project team.
We encourage regular cost checking throughout design development. Preliminary costings from a Quantity Surveyor or builder help test the design against the budget as it progresses.
The depth of design development varies between the two pathways, with Trueform Editions starting from a more developed architectural foundation.
-
With the design resolved, the focus shifts from exploring possibilities to defining the project in detail. Consultant input is incorporated and the technical relationships behind the architecture are coordinated, bringing the project to a level suitable for consents, pricing and construction.
-
From contractor selection through to completion, we remain closely involved in the project and its delivery. We assist with procurement, administer the construction contract and work with the wider project team to help maintain design intent, quality and compliance throughout the build.
