Who we are
Director | Registered Architect
Hi, I’m George — the face behind Trueform Architects.
I grew up on a farm in rural Hawke’s Bay, surrounded by open landscapes and a close-knit community. It’s where I learned the value of working together, caring for what we have, and taking pride in creating something lasting. These values continue to inform how I approach architecture today.
My upbringing gave me a practical approach to life and a curiosity about how things fit together. From a young age, I was either out on the farm or in the workshop, building things and working on my motocross bike before the next race. These days, life outside the studio is spent with friends and family, often exploring, travelling, and seeking new adventures. Those experiences keep me grounded and influence the balance of people, place, and purpose that underpins each project.
I’m a New Zealand Registered Architect and the founder of Trueform Architects. We are a design-led practice based between Wellington and Hawke’s Bay, working on projects throughout New Zealand. We believe that each project is shaped not by a single author, but by the collective knowledge, skills, and intentions of many, from the client and community to consultants and contractors. We value these contributions and see our role as both design advocates and facilitators, guiding the process with clarity, empathy, and respect.
We are committed to design that’s thoughtful, grounded, and responsive — to the brief, to the budget, to the site, and to the realities of construction. We approach each commission with an open mind, listening carefully and building trust.
If you’re planning a project and think we might be a good fit, get in touch. We’d love to hear about it.
